Forml (“we,” “us”) is an AI styling app built by BTG Group. This policy explains what we collect, why, how it's used and shared, how long we keep it, and how you can access or delete it. By using Forml, you agree to the practices described here.
Photos.When you submit an outfit photo, it is sent directly to a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI) for analysis so Forml can generate your score and feedback. Photos are processed solely to produce that styling result, are not used by us or, per OpenAI's API terms, by our AI provider to train any model, and are not stored on our servers at any point — we only keep the resulting score, tips, and garment classifications (color, pattern, fit, etc.).
Device and usage data.Forml has no login or account system — you're identified only by an anonymous device-generated identifier. We store that identifier alongside basic device/OS information and usage analytics (e.g. which features you open, how many ratings you've used) to operate the app and debug crashes.
Profile information you provide.Name, gender, style goals, and an optional email address, all of which you can skip — Forml never requires personal information to function. We also store the style preferences Forml infers over time from your ratings (your “Style DNA”).
Purchase information.Whether you're subscribed to Forml Pro and which plan, as reported to us by Apple. We never receive or store your payment card details — those are held by Apple.
Referral program. If you share or redeem a referral code, we store a link between the two anonymous device identifiers involved (who referred whom) so we can grant both devices a free promotional week of Pro once the referred device completes its first rating. No name, email, or other personal information is exchanged between the two devices through this feature.
We use the information above to: provide and operate the styling and scoring features; personalize feedback and your Style DNA over time; remember your subscription status and usage limits; send the optional reminder notifications you enable; debug crashes and improve reliability; and enforce these Terms and our content policies (e.g. detecting abuse).
Your style score and feedback are generated entirely by an automated AI system with no human review of individual results. See our Terms of Service for important limitations on relying on this output — scores are opinions for informational purposes, not professional advice or a guarantee of any outcome.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share your photos with anyone other than the AI provider used to score them, and only for that purpose. We use a small number of service providers to operate Forml — currently OpenAI (AI analysis), Apple (billing and distribution), and Supabase/Vercel (hosting and database). Each only receives the data needed to perform its function, and is contractually or structurally limited from using it for anything else. We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Forml, our users, or the public.
We retain your device-linked data (profile, history, Style DNA, subscription status) for as long as you use the app, and until you delete your account. Photos are never retained — they exist only transiently during the analysis request. If you delete your account, your data is deleted from our production systems promptly, though residual copies may persist briefly in backups before they are cycled out.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your scores, history, and Style DNA from our systems. Depending on where you live (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU/UK GDPR), you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, or a copy of your data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, or to ask any question about your data, email legal@btgbuilds.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
Forml is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the email above and we will delete it.
We and our service providers may process and store data in the United States and other countries. By using Forml, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with data protection laws that may differ from those of your home country.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we materially change how we handle your data, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Forml after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
